– Digital memory of the Artefacts VI - How things work This project analyzes and shows found artefacts whose purpose and functionality has mostly been forgotten. I selected the mathematical compass because of its interesting geometrical construction. After recreating three compasses as 3D models these objects were then presented in virtual reality using an interactive application. Users are invited to play with the artefacts, draw circles and closely examine the different compasses. In addition, detailed information about each artefact are displayed in a context window. By these means, the legacy of the artefacts is preserved in form of a digital memory. – 2014
